According to what we discussed today in class (check ppt. at http://www.uamericas.cl/). Explore the book: GAMES FOR LANGUAGE LEARNING (available at http://www.uamericas.cl/) and choose one game. Work individually or in groups. Write down the way you will present this to a group of learners. Imagine you are speaking to them. What would you say? are you achieving the three stages: attention, perception and understanding of the task? Be ready to present your thinking aloud protocol next class.

ReplyDeleteOk students, today we are going to develop an activity which consist on a picture game.
You’ll have to work in twos and find the pairs by describing them and asking each other about their picture’s features, if you think that the cards that you have are pair (the same) you put them aside of the deck, and you’ll continue until the desk ends up. If the cards that you selected are not pairs you have to put them back in the pack and try it again.
You’ll need to find all the pairs within 15 minutes aprox.
So take your time, think carefully your questions and have fun!. Good Luck

today, we're gonna play! so listen carefully the instructions.
first, we're gonna work in pairs, so stay with your sitting partner, then I'll give you a picture, one of you have to look this picture and the other have to draw it according to what's your classmate describing you, and then you have to compare the picture with the draw that yourself made.

Today we'll check some vocabulary and for that, first I'll need a volunteer to step up to the (blackboard or whiteboard) to do some drawings. The class will tell what thing, which size and in which place will draw a certain item depending on the theme will talk about, this time is the classroom so the objects you'll look for up are according to it, but the thing is that the student is going to be blindfolded. so try to think wherever things that belongs to a classroom, be accurate and hace fun.

MONDEY ACTIVITY
ReplyDeleteToday we go to play!!! (Attention) This game is about animals and the name is “play twins”.
For this game you need, a lot of pictures of animals, scissors and glue. The animal’s pictures have to be two of each animal.
It’s ok? (Perception), ok, you have to find two lion’s picture, or may be two cow’s pictures etc.
Are you following me? Well, with these elements you have to do cards. And then we can start to play. You have to put the cards on the table and you can choose one, you have to talk about the picture but you can’t show it to other classmate. Then you put the card on the table the other classmate choose other one and have to do the same than you.
You understand me? (Understanding) you have to find the pear of the cards, for example if your classmate tells you: my animal is big, has a lot of hair, it leaves in Africa and eat meat. You think it can be a lion, and you remember where the other picture of a lion is, and choose it.
The classmate who has more cards wins… ok, are you ready? Lest start!
